I would like to nominate Mike Reid (sic ) for the hall of fame. I worked with him on 2 occasions on the BC Coast . Mike was in his 17th season the 2nd time I worked with him at Brinkman. Apparently he had always planted for Brinkman on the coast and in the BC interior planting the steep ground in Blue River and Valemount (Rockies). Although I don’t know the exact number of trees he has planted I know that it must be well in excess of 3 million +. Usually once or more per shift Mike would have an $800 day and would easily average 2000 – 2500 trees per day on the coast. Watching him plant steep ground it seemed as if he were planting trenches on flat ground. From what I hear he is a very accomplished surfer.
