Hall of Fame > Jo-Ben Barkey

Nominated by: Jason Muller
Date Added : April 6, 2006

Jo-Ben has been in the game for 10 seasons. His motivational skills are unparalleled and he always keeps his crews looking at the positives of any situation. He is an awesome friend and even more amazing planter, I don’t know how many trees he’s planted so far, but I’m sure he’s close to a mill. He’ll plant 6 or 7 to your one same as Lee.

Second Nomination by: Lee Keller
Date Added April 8, 2006

I first met Jo-Ben in my rookie year. He was one of the planters people were talking about. He was in the “seemingly unattainable” $20,000 club. In most rookie minds it doesn’t seem possible. But Jo-Ben definitely has the ability to change your attitude and motivate you. He’s able to quickly recognize potential in rookie planters and build in to them immediately. He was a great motivator to me in my rookie year and I must give him some credit for my success (although he probably had money on me in the foreman rookie pool…haha). He is the one who taught me how to area plant and pushed me to exceed my goals. The following year I ended up joining him in the 20G club (with his encouragement playing an important role I believe). We stood alone as the only two $20,000 clubers in our camp until Jo-Ben raised up a couple more pounders from his crew — he sure knows how to train ’em!

Throughout the years Jo-Ben has always been an encouragement to me, both when I was a planter and a foreman. Jo-Ben would even take time to motivate planters on my crew, which ALWAYS helped. He just has the gift! He has become a good friend of mine and is a great joy to plant/foreman with. Jason MullerJo-Ben has been in the game for 10 seasons.
